4:16-5:1 – They are both ready to go, so go for it
Scripture Text: Song of Solomon 4:16-5:1
verse 4:16
Now she speaks.
She invites him to enjoy her body.
Notice she says ‘his garden’, not ‘my garden’
She is ready.
verse 5:1
He again uses sister and bride to show equality.
He states that she offered her body and he completely accepted the offer.
The second part of the verse could be the narrator.
It could be God.
Who ever it is, calls them the plural of the word that he has used for her, and the plural of the word she has used for him.
And says: eat and drink your fill.
There is a time for everything and this was the time for sex, for romance, for love and for relationship.
Notice that it says “drink abundantly”. At this point there is no holding back.
The next passage is Song of Solomon 5:2-8.
