She compares herself to a common flower. It is beautiful, but the plains, the valleys are covered with them. This time he comes through. He gives her a compliment. He says, if you are like this common flower, then in comparison are like thorns. He is letting her know that she is special. She offers a compliment that if the other guys are trees in the forest, that he is like a fruit tree. Not only does he look good and provide shade, but he provides food. They are both letting the other one know that there attention is on each other. Other guys and girls exist, but the two of them are focusing on each other.
