I can tell you a story that was in a song. Can’t sing it. Don’t know the tune. Don’t know the correct words. But the story is worth telling.
It was hot summer Saturday. The people were crowded into the tent for an auction. There was a good selection of items that had been auctioned. The bidding had been good. The auctioneer was happy with the result, but getting a little tired. The next item was put out in front of him. In an old cardboard box was a dirty violin and a bow. The auctioneer didn’t think it was worth much, so he started the bidding at one dollar. He got a dollar, then two and as he was asking for three he noticed an old man had come up to the front and was wiping the dirt off the violin and tightening the strings. He stopped for a moment and looked at the old man as he put the violin under his chin and began to play. The old man played a beautiful song as the crowd was hushed in amazement. The Auctioneer then looked out at the crowd and said who will give a thousand dollars, then two, then three. What had changed? It was the touch of the master’s hand.
Well God is the master and you are the violin. People may discount you and think that you are not valuable. But it isn’t true. As you let God lead your life, you will produce a beautiful song. In Song of Solomon it is about love, sex, romance, marriage, and relationship. In other books in the Bible, you learn how to become a beautiful song to the world in all areas of life.
In John 10:10 we learn that Jesus came so that we might have life, and have it to the full. Be the full complete person you can be. The world needs the song that you will produce.
