Scripture Text: Song of Solomon 2:15 (22a, page 179)
Let us catch the foxes, the little foxes who ruin vineyards, because your vineyards are in blossom.
Another version for this verse.
Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that are destroying our grape-fields, for the flowers are on the vines. NIV
Who is saying this? Various versions list it as him, her, and both. I really don’t know who said it. They both seem to agree with it. The little foxes would go into a new vineyard and they would dig up and eat the roots. This would destroy the whole vine. If you are going to have a relationship that builds slowly, that takes some time, you have to watch out for the little things that can get in and destroy it. You can find someone who will have sex with you, will go out and have a good time for a night. And if you are building a relationship slowly, there will be people around that want to jump in and get what they can. Watch out. You may seem attractive because you are with someone else. Once they ‘win’ you away, they tend to lose interest. As much as it comes as a shock, everyone does not have your best interest in mind.
If you are ready, these little distractions will play themselves out. If you aren’t ready you can lose something valuable for something fast.
